I purchased a 2018 Kia Forte5 from Barrie Kia in August 2023. By December 2023 — approximately three to four months after purchase — the vehicle began experiencing engine issues, including repeated P1326 codes and limp mode activation. At the time, the vehicle was well below 100,000 km. Since I cant get a manager to call me back, for over 1.5 weeks, and you guys have had my car for over 3 weeks... i will just leave my complaint here instead. This dealership has had my car for over 3 weeks. My engine light was flashing, so the car cant be driven. We brought the car in with a diagnosis from another shop, and they wouldn't take the information from us, or make notes in the file about what was wrong. I went in for a service recall that was supposed to take one day. It took 6 days. During this time my car was broken into and over $800 worth of items were taken from my car and my car was destroyed on the inside. Barrie Kia will not return my calls and any person I have spoken with has said that it’s not their fault and I should call my insurance. They have not even apologized for the situation. Then when I did pick up my car they had to boost it and fill it was fluids in the parking lot because it was empty.
Bought a brand new Kia Seltos from Barrie kia at the end of June. I did not even have the car for 24 hours before the engine light turned on. I called Barrie Kia the following day and let them know what was going on, was met with someone who was very short with me stating "Just bring it in and we'll deal with it." I explained I live an hour away and he responded "call service and make an appointment then" and hung up the phone on me. I would strongly encourage anyone to avoid this dealership and Kia all together. We bought our 2024 EV9 GT in June of 2024 and it was in the shop and pulled off the road by April 2025. Barrie Kia had no idea what was wrong with it- likely still doesn’t. Every part they need is on back order for at least 6 weeks. Service department is horrendous to get ahold of, you’ll likely be on hold for 30 mins+. Nobody knows what’s going on.
